2019 Fall Baseball

By Steve Ozmer, 08/01/19, 4:15PM CDT

School is about to start and fall baseball is right around the corner. There will be a Parent meeting around the 1st/2nd week of school where I will be able to provide you more information.

Fall baseball is an opportunity for the boys to play with teammates from Guyer and it also allows them to compete in the fall against other schools.  It's a 6 week season (a 7th week included for potential make-up games) that begins around the first week of September. The cost to play is $175 (checks need to be made out to Guyer Baseball).

Playing fall baseball is not mandatory, there will be no cuts or tryouts - everyone who wants to play can play even if involved in another Fall sport. Playing fall ball does not indicate a player will make a Spring roster; try-outs for Spring teams will be held in January.

The school cannot provide transportation to and from away  games.  Regarding equipment, players can use their individual gear (helmets, pants, etc.) but I also have spare helmets for use. Hats, and jerseys are part of the cost to play including umpires and league fees. All teams will be coached by Dads and I will help them out with information about the players (positions, pitching, etc.). Any Dads who would like to help coach these teams please contact me.

PLAYERS - click this link to register. If you do not register, you cannot play.

We will field the following teams:
Varsity: 2 teams comprised of Juniors, Seniors and some Sophomores
JV: 1 team of Sophomores
Freshmen: 2 teams; will be split as best as possible to make them even

Game Days/Times/ Limits
Varsity - Tuesdays*; 6:00 pm; 10 innings/2:45
JV & Freshmen ** - Saturdays; 10:00 am; 10 innings/2:45

* Some games will be on Monday/Wednesday
**  Due to a possible shortage of umpires, we might have  double headers at some sites on Saturdays.  If so, the start times would be 9:00/12:00.
